Our trip to Newfoundland this summer was postponed until another year due to Amy’s involvement in making a documentary on Matt Rutherford, a sailor who completed a solo, non stop voyage around North and South America in a 27 foot Albin Vega. (see: Solo the Americas for the blog.) We are hoping for an August 2nd departure and will go as far north as we can before it’s time to turn around and head south. We’d like to be in the Chesapake in October and then take off for the tropics in late October or early November.
About that documentary–Amy has teamed up with Tory Salvia, owner of TheSailingChannel.tv, to film and produce this feature-length story. Nancy Flannery is executive producer. All have worked tirelessly over the past few months and have much more work ahead of them. The release date is expected sometime in 2013.
While Amy’s been filming, Ken has been updating and upgrading Mary T. We have new standing rigging, AIS, new autopilot, WiFi booster mounted on the back stay, rebuilt windlass, and various other odds and ends.
